Evan K. Fitz, M.D.

Dr. Fitz was born and raised in Lawton, Oklahoma. He attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma, where he graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. He then went on to attend medical school at the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia, Missouri. He graduated with his medical degree in 2012 after also being inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society (AOA).

Dr. Fitz completed his residency in general surgery in 2017 at the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he received the IU resident teaching award. He then completed his fellowship in Colon & Rectal surgery at the St. Francis Kendrick Colon & Rectal Center in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Dr. Fitz has training in minimally invasive and robotic colon & rectal surgery. He is a board certified general surgeon, and his special interests include inflammatory bowel disease and colon cancer. Other works of Dr. Fitz include publications in the Journal of the American College of Surgeons and the Journal of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery.
